2016: Ravens Mock Draft Monitor 1.0

20_DraftMonitor_news.jpg

The first rounds of mock drafts are out. Consider these predictions written in pencil because there will be many more.

The Ravens have the sixth-overall pick and needs on offense and defense.

As of now, there's a wide range of players that draftniks could see landing in Baltimore.

Here's the most recent roundup:

Mel Kiper, ESPN
Posted Jan. 14
OT Ronnie Stanley, Notre Dame
Junior; 6-foot-6, 315 pounds
"In another year Stanley would be worthy to be the first offensive tackle taken, but [Ole Miss' Laremy] Tunsil gets the nod in this class. Stanley was a gifted but inconsistent player last year, and he decided to go back, which is going to work out well for him. This year, the talent is still obvious, and he was better technically, and it showed. Baltimore can't pass on a potential left tackle with Stanley's upside here given the state of the O-line, not to mention with Joe Flacco coming back from an injury."

Todd McShay, ESPN
Posted Dec. 16 (Ravens projected pick at No. 4)
CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
Junior; 6-1, 202; 13 games, 52 tackles, 1 sack, 9 passes defensed, 1 fumble recovery
"Ramsey can do it all in the secondary: match up in the slot, play center field and stuff the run. It's no surprise, then, that he's a terrific athlete, winning the ACC long-jump title as part of Florida State's track and field team earlier this year. One of the most complete players in this class, Ramsey would be a welcome addition to a Ravens secondary that has struggled the past few seasons."

CB Vernon Hargreaves III, FloridaJunior; 5-11, 199; 12 games, 33 tackles, 4 interceptions, 4 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble"The Ravens' cornerback woes could lead Ozzie Newsome and John Harbaugh to grab the confident playmaker with exceptional cover skills."

Daniel Jeremiah, NFL MediaPosted Jan. 17
CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
"The Ravens have a lot of holes, but upgrading the secondary is the priority."

Rob Rang, CBS Sports
Posted Jan. 18
OT Ronnie Stanley, Notre Dame
"The Ravens appear ready to move on from Eugene Monroe, a disappointment at left tackle since being acquired in a trade with Jacksonville. Scouts wish Stanley was a little nastier in the running game, but his long arms and light feet make him a quality pass blocker."

Dane Brugler, CBS Sports

OT Ronnie Stanley, Notre Dame
"Baltimore inked Eugene Monroe to a lucrative extension, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy, making it tough for the Ravens to rely on him to start 16 games in 2016. Stanley not only adds instant depth, but gives Baltimore a long-term plan at a position of need."

Chris Burke, Sports Illustrated
Posted Jan. 6
CB Vernon Hargreaves III, Florida
"Don't let his shaky bowl performance fool you: Hargreaves is a legit NFL shut-down corner ready to happen. He more than held his own in some difficult matchups this season, showing a willingness to be physical coupled with the awareness to find the football."

Dan Kadar, SB Nation
Posted Jan. 18
CB Mackensie Alexander, Clemson
Sophomore; 5-11, 195; 13 games, 23 tackles, 0 interceptions, 5 passes defensed
"Everyone, including me, seems to be giving the Ravens Notre Dame left tackle Ronnie Stanley. What if the Ravens don't want a tackle this high because of some of the flops from the position? If that's the case, and the board falls like this, the obvious move is to trade. Since that's not an option here, the choice is a cornerback. Alexander could get drafted higher than Florida's Vernon Hargreaves because he's bigger and arguably better."

CB Vernon Hargreaves III, Florida

Eric Galko, Sporting News
Posted Jan. 14
DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson
Junior; 6-3, 270; 15 games, 59 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble
"Coming off an unfortunately injury-laden college playoff, Lawson still was able to produce and make an impact in the team's narrow defeat to Alabama. With a unique skill-set of a 6-6, 280-pound body-type that allows him to dominate in edge strength with a Dwight Freeney-esque spin move, Lawson is an NFL-ready rusher only improving in his repertoire. The Ravens, boasting a playoff roster but suffering through a historic number of crucial injuries, could capitalize on an elite talent in this year's top-10 to help continue their transition on defense. Lawson doesn't fill a major need, but Baltimore has never been bashful about snatching up the best talent on the board. That could be Lawson."
