2024 Baltimore Ravens Girls Flag Coach of the Week

This year the Ravens are debuting the Ravens Girls Flag Coach of the Week award, presented by Head & Shoulders. Similar to the long-standing Ravens High School Coach of the Week award for traditional high school tackle teams, the Ravens will honor 10 girls flag coaches who excel on and off the field of play.

Winning coaches receive a $2,000 donation to their school's program and will be in the running to earn Ravens High School Girls Flag Coach of the Year.

2024 Winners

Week 1: William Dick - Brunswick High School

Honored for Week 1 Game on September 4:
Brunswick 8, Walkersville 6 (3OT)

Notable: In his first season at the helm, the Railroaders took down Walkersville in three overtimes.

Week 2: Chad Carter – North Hagerstown High School

Week 2: Chad Carter – North Hagerstown High School

Honored for Week 2 Game on September 11:
North Hagerstown 14, Clear Spring 0

Notable: Coach Carter has 'North' off to a 2-0 start in their inaugural season. The Hubs have only given up 2 points through their first two games.

Week 3: Jeremy Spoales – Damascus High School

Honored for Week 3 Game on September 18:
Damascus 20, Kennedy 0

Notable: Spoales is being honored for the unbeaten Hornets performance against Kennedy, but they have continued the shutout streak through four weeks. So far this season, they have outscored opponents 112-0 (through 4 games).

Week 4: Jenna Essenmacher – Blake High School

Honored for Week 4 Game on September 23:
Blake 18, Gaithersburg 0

Notable: Essenmacher, who serves as the Girls Flag Football Sport Director in Montgomery County, is also a professional flag football player. She is a tremendous role model and leader for her Bengal squad who recently knocked off Gaithersburg.

Week 5: Nick Damoulakis – Urbana High School

Honored for Week 5 Game on October 5: Urbana 20, Clarke Central (GA) 0

Notable: Damoulakis leads an unbeaten Urbana team who is highly touted this season. They also were the runner-up in last year's pilot season. Nick has been instrumental in developing Girls Flag Football at the high school and grassroots level in Frederick County. Once just a youth co-ed flag coach, Damoulakis, now leads the Urbana varsity girls team, leads clinics and also coached the first ever Big 33 – Girls Flag team from Maryland in May of 2024.

Honored for Week 5 Game on October 7: ACCE 13, Green Street Academy 6

Notable: Maya Barnes, a proud ACCE graduate and former student-athlete, has returned to her alma mater to guide the next generation of Eagles. Coach Barnes' team raced to a 5-0 record before suffering their first loss, but are well positioned in the Baltimore City standings as the inaugural season for their school system continues.

Week 7: Chad Hartman – Boonsboro

Honored for Week 7 Game on October 23: Boonsboro 25, North Hagerstown 14

Notable: Hartman leads the Warriors program in their inaugural season and his daughter is a member of the team. Boonsboro remains unbeaten, outscoring opponents 168-71 for the season and their post-season hopes are becoming a reality.

Week 8: Gregory Fitzgerald – Forest Park

Honored for Week 8 Game on October 28: Forest Park 34, Carver 0

Notable: Fitzgerald in his first season at the helm had the Foresters unbeaten for a 5-game stretch and playing stellar defense only giving up 7.5 points per game.

Week 9: Nissa Freeman – South Hagerstown

Honored for Week 9 Game on November 4: South Hagerstown 26, Clear Spring 20

Notable: While they were slow out of the gate, the Rebels, won two of their final three games including a first-round match in the Washington County tournament.

Week 10: Mark Falcon - Patterson

Week 10: Mark Falcon - Patterson

Honored for Week 10 (Post-Season Tournament): Boonsboro 27, Patterson 26 (OT)

Notable: While the Lady Clippers did not finish the season with a win, Falcon's leadership guided Patterson to seven straight wins during the 2024 campaign and a "Trailblazers" division championship within Baltimore City.
