12/26: Who's Practicing, Who's Not

Ngata, Yanda Held Out Of Practice

The Ravens appear to be getting healthier and had only two players sit out Wednesday's practice.

Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (knee) and right guard Marshal Yanda (shoulder/knee) both did not participate. The injuries are new for both players.

Yanda was recently hobbled with an ankle injury, but he played through it last week against the Giants after missing the Week 15 matchup with the Broncos.

Ngata dealt with shoulder and knee injuries earlier in the season, but he has not been listed on the injury report since Week 12, when he was dealing with a shoulder problem. He was last listed with a knee injury in Week 7, leading up to the Ravens game against the Texans.

While the two Pro Bowlers missed practice Wednesday, the good news is that Harbaugh said earlier in the week that there were not any significant injuries in Sunday's game.

"There were no major injuries," Harbaugh said. "So we're very fortunate there and we continue to get a little more healthy."

Boldin, Doss Limited

A positive sign for the Ravens offense was that wide receivers Anquan Boldin (sholder) and Tandon Doss (ankle) were both at practice as limited participants. Doss missed Sunday's game with the injury and Boldin was forced out of the game after hurting his shoulder.

Harbaugh has described Boldin's injury as a "shoulder bruise."

The other limited participants were defensive tackle Arthur Jones (thigh), fullback Vonta Leach (ankle) and linebacker Albert McClellan (shoulder/thigh).

McClellan has been able to practice through the injuries as a limited participant, but he still sat out Sunday's game.

Lewis, Pollard Full Participants

Ray Lewis (triceps) appeared on the injury report for the first time this season, as the Ravens added him to the 53-man roster Wednesday afternoon. Lewis was a full participant, although the Ravens have already ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Lewis has been practicing for the last three weeks, but he wasn't required to be on the injury report until he came off the injured reserve – designated to return list.

In addition to Lewis, Bernard Pollard (chest), Dannell Ellerbe (ankle), Ed Reed (shoulder), Pernell McPhee (thigh), Terrell Suggs (biceps) and Jimmy Smith (abdomen) were all full participants.

This was the first time Pollard practiced since Week 14. He has missed two straight games with the chest injury, but it appears he's working his way back to the field.

"It was great," Head Coach John Harbaugh said about Pollard's return. "Bernard went through the full practice, so he was a full participant in practice. That was great to see. Obviously going forward, he is a big, big part of what we are doing – big part of our defense."

Ellerbe returned to the field Sunday after missing three straight games with the injury, and he was able to practice fully.

"The ankle held up," Ellerbe said. "I'm not going to say it's 100 percent, but it's good enough to go."

The other full participants were wide receiver Jacoby Jones (ankle) and tight end Dennis Pitta (knee).
