The comparisons flying around Baltimore are between C.J. Mosley and Ray Lewis.
But Mosley will be wearing another legendary Baltimore linebacker's jersey number.
He will suit up with No. 57, the same number O.J. Brigance used to wear. The Ravens haven't given the number out since 2008, when Bart Scott last wore it at the end of a seven-year career in Baltimore.
Brigance was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 and has become the heart and soul of the team as he battles the terrible disease. Brigance still serves as the Ravens' senior advisor of player development. He was on hand for Mosley's introductory press conference.
Mosley wore No. 32 at Alabama, but that's not a number eligible for linebackers in the NFL.
The importance of wearing Brigance's old jersey number was not lost on the rookie. (Mobile users tap "View In Browser" above)
Blessed to wear number 57 in honor of O. J. Brigance! #blessed #charmcity — CJ Mosley (@TreyDeuce32RTR) May 9, 2014
