Ravens nickel cornerback Tavon Young (groin) is inactive for Sunday's playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers, while wide receiver Chris Moore (shoulder/hip) is active.
Young and Moore were both questionable on Friday's injury report. Moore didn't practice Friday, but he and Young worked out on the field in front of coaches prior to Sunday's game. Moore is deemed ready to play, but Young is missing just his second game this season after practicing Friday on a limited basis.
Young's presence will be missed in the Ravens' secondary. He scored the game-clinching touchdown in Week 16 against the Chargers, recovering a fumble forced by inside linebacker Patrick Onwuasor and returning it 62 yards for the score. Young usually covers the opponent's slot receiver, meaning Brandon Carr, Anthony Levine Sr., Maurice Canady, and Cyrus Jones could be called upon to defend in the slot, with Jimmy Smith and Marlon Humphrey playing outside.
Moore is expected to assume his role as the primary kick returner against the Chargers. Wide receiver Willie Snead IV and running back Ty Montgomery are available to return kicks if Moore cannot.
Also inactive for the Ravens are quarterback Robert Griffin III, wide receiver Jordan Lasley, fullback/defensive back Patrick Ricard, guard Alex Lewis, outside linebacker Tim Williams, and defensive tackle Zach Sieler.
The Chargers will be without two key starters on defense: outside linebacker Jatavis Brown (ankle) and nose tackle Brandon Mebane. Brown has 79 tackles and 3 ½ sacks this season, and he had eight tackles in Week 16 against the Ravens.
Mebane did not practice all week for non-injury reasons and was listed as doubtful. He is one of their primary run-stoppers, and his absence could leave Los Angeles more vulnerable to the Ravens' potent running game featuring quarterback Lamar Jackson, and running backs Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon.
Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (groin) will play after practicing on a limited basis Friday. Ekeler (554 yards) is the Chargers' second-leading rusher this season behind Melvin Gordon (885 yards).
Chargers tight end Hunter Henry is out, still recovering from a torn ACL that has forced him to miss the entire season. It was thought Henry might be activated for this game, but he was not quite ready to play. If the Chargers win today, Henry is expected to play next week according to multiple reports. But the Ravens won't have to worry about Henry, who had 45 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns last season.
Also inactive for the Chargers are running back Troymaine Pope, center/guard Cole Toner, guard Forrest Lamp, wide receiver Dylan Cantrell, and defensive end Anthony Lanier II.
