Replacing starting wide receiver Anquan Boldin may not fall to one person.
"I think it's going to be a committee thing," Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti said at the owners meetings.
The Ravens have several young wide receivers on the roster and they all bring different skills to the table. That means Baltimore could use a combination to add a wrinkle to the offense.
Third-year wideout Tandon Doss was groomed for Boldin's position and started to emerge as a wideout last year with seven receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. Like Boldin, he has a good set of hands and bigger build (6-foot-2, 207 pounds).
Baltimore re-signed wide receiver David Reed, who caught five passes for 66 yards. The 6-foot, 190-pounder is known for his quickness that could make him a natural fit for the slot.
The Ravens also have Deonte Thompson, an undrafted free agent out of Florida who made the active roster and caught five passes for 51 yards. Thompson's a speedster that could add another vertical element opposite wide receiver Torrey Smith. Bisciotti said coaches were "thrilled with" Thompson.
Head Coach John Harbaugh and Bisciotti also brought up last year's sixth-round pick, Tommy Streeter. Streeter was placed on injured reserve when camp ended with a foot injury, giving him essentially a red-shirt season. The 6-foot-5 prospect could be especially dangerous in the red zone.
"[Coaches] liked Tommy Streeter's development by the end of the year," Bisciotti said. "They thought that he finally started to get what it was like to be a pro."
Between Boldin, Smith and Jacoby Jones, they missed just one game all season. Boldin sat out the season-finale in Cincinnati. So, as Bisciotti said, the Ravens don't have much game experience on which to judge their young wideouts.
"We don't know what we have, but we believe that we have enough and we believe that there's enough guys there to compete," Bisciotti said.
"That's what good teams do. That's what Ozzie [Newsome] and John [Harbaugh] are good at. So I'm very confident that we're going to find that production inside our roster."
At the same time, Harbaugh said the Ravens will probably add somebody through the draft. Bisciotti didn't rule out a late free-agent addition either.
"There will be surprising cuts all the way up to August, and we'll be as aware as any team," Bisciotti said.
