Defensive End Chris Canty Leaves Game With Pectoral Strain

The Ravens have added another starter to the list of injured players.

Veteran defensive end Chris Canty suffered a pectoral strain Sunday against the Seahawks and did not return. When Canty left the game, the Ravens gave more snaps to Lawrence Guy and Brent Urban.

It's unclear how serious Canty's injury is because he was not in the locker room after the game and Head Coach John Harbaugh did not provide a post-game update on his status.

If the injury is serious enough to sideline Canty in future weeks, then the second-year defender Urban will see his playing time increase in the final three weeks of the season.

Canty, 33, has played in nine games this year, notching 17 tackles and a sack. He is the latest starter to go down in an injury-riddled season for the Ravens.

Most of the injuries have occurred on offense, as the Ravens took the field Sunday without their season-opening's starters at seven positions. They were down to third-string quarterback Jimmy Clausen, and had just one receiver active who was on the team at the start of the season.

The Ravens currently have 19 players on injured reserve or the physically unable to perform list.
