Expect some big changes to the Ravens' injury report.
The list will likely be jam-packed with names after the Ravens were issued a $20,000 fine by the NFL last week for not including safety Ed Reed's torn labrum.
"Yeah there's not going to be anybody that's not going to be on there," Head Coach John Harbaugh said Monday when asked if the team would list more players this week.
Reed initially disclosed the injury during a radio interview, and Harbaugh said last week that not listing Reed was within the rules because he has not missed any practice time or game action.
The NFL still hit the Ravens with a fine, and Harbaugh said he was surprised by the decision.
"It's something that we felt like we were doing the right way," Harbaugh said. "Obviously they disagreed so we'll adjust. We'll try to do a better job in the future."
Before getting fined, the Ravens had previously kept the list rather tight, only listing players who had missed games or practice time. For example, the Ravens had five players on the report before the Week 7 game in Houston.
But that practice seems likely to end, as the NFL rule states: "All players with significant or noteworthy injuries must be listed on the report, even if the player takes all the reps in practice, and even if the team is certain that he will play in the upcoming game. This is especially true of key players and those players whose injuries have been covered extensively by the media."
Harbaugh explained that he didn't want to attempt to differentiate which players are "significant," and would err on the side of caution by including everyone.
"It's pretty hard for us to determine who a significant player is and who's not," Harbaugh said. "I don't know how to do that. It's one of the ways they write it in there. They say, 'a significant player who has not missed any time should be on there.'
"Well in my mind, all 53 are significant. I think every single guy is significant, so I'm not about to start saying, 'Well one guy is more significant than the other.'"
