The Ravens are heading to Kansas City without three starters and have more questions beyond that. They could, however, have a couple key returns.
Baltimore ruled out defensive tackles Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) and Broderick Washington Jr. (ankle) on Friday. Nose tackle Travis Jones (knee) is questionable after logging back-to-back limited practices.
Coming off a game in which they allowed 224 rushing yards to the Detroit Lions, the Ravens are short-handed up front and will lean more heavily upon 36-year-old John Jenkins and sixth-round rookie Aeneas Peebles.
"His reps will go up, for sure, and he's ready," Head Coach John Harbaugh said of Jenkins. "He's practiced really well, and he's a decorated vet and a really good player. He's done a great job, so we're expecting a really good game from him."
Outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) and left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) both returned to limited practice Friday and are questionable to play Sunday.
If Stanley can't play, veteran Joe Noteboom, who has started 35 games over eight seasons, would likely step in at left tackle against the Chiefs' aggressive defense, led up front by defensive tackle Chris Jones and defensive end George Karlaftis.
"He's doing well. He's in that day-to-day world right now," Harbaugh said of Stanley. "We'll see. He's working hard to be there on Sunday."
Isaiah Likely Has a Chance to Make Debut
Tight end Isaiah Likely has practiced all week for the second straight week and could make his debut in Kansas City following foot surgery.
Harbaugh said Likely practiced fully Friday for the first time, but they haven't made a determination yet on whether he's quite ready for game action against the Chiefs.
"It just depends on what's best for us and the team," Harbaugh said. "We'll watch the [practice] tape, see how his numbers look. It's going to be a tough environment. He practiced one week, but he looked really good.
"So is he ready to go in this game against those guys and play at the top, top level and help us win this game? Or is somebody else more suited? But he could do it. He looks good to me. We'll just have to see if it's the best thing for us on Sunday."
Likely had a huge Week 1 game in Kansas City last season, catching nine passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. He came a toe away from a touchdown that could have tied the game at the end of regulation.
Xavier Worthy Returning for Mostly Healthy Chiefs
The Chiefs are hopeful speedy second-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy can help jumpstart their offense as he's set to return Sunday after he missed most of the first three games due to a shoulder injury.
Worthy scored two touchdowns against the Ravens in last season's opener (one receiving, one rushing) and finished his rookie year with 638 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
The Chiefs are mostly healthy. Starting defensive end Mike Danna is doubtful after he was limited in practice Friday. Otherwise, everybody else is expected to suit up.
Rookie defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte (illness) missed practice Friday and cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle) is also questionable.
