Former Ravens tackle Jonathan Ogden and late owner Art Modell are through to the next round.
Ogden and Modell are among the 27 semifinalists being considered for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013, as announced Friday afternoon.
Ogden is expected to be enshrined on his first ballot. The Ravens' first ever draft pick (1996) played 12 seasons and went to 11 Pro Bowls. He played a major part in redefining the left tackle position.
Modell, who passed away on Sept. 6, has now reached the semifinals eight times, including the past four years. He was one of 15 finalists in 2001.
The call for Modell to be finally admitted into the Hall of Fame was as loud as ever after Modell's death.
Late Ravens quarterback Steve McNair, running back Priest Holmes and defensive tackle Sam Adams were also among the nominees, but none made it to the semifinals.
The results of the reduction vote to 15 finalists will be announced in early January, 2013. The Class of 2013 will be determined at the selection committee's annual meeting on Saturday, Feb. 2, in New Orleans, La., the day before Super Bowl XLVII.
