Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta commented on the allegations made against kicker Justin Tucker during a Tuesday press conference in Indianapolis.
The NFL is investigating the allegations reported by The Baltimore Banner. Sixteen massage therapists at eight spas have alleged that Tucker engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior during sessions between 2012 and 2016. Tucker has denied the allegations.
"The allegations are serious, concerning," DeCosta said at the NFL Scouting Combine. "The amount of allegations are serious and concerning.
"I think we're fortunate the league is doing an investigation. We'll wait as patiently as we can for as much information as we can. We'll make our decisions based on that."
DeCosta said he has met with the league and Tucker since the allegations have been made. DeCosta said no determination on Tucker's future status with the team has been made.
"I did meet with Justin," DeCosta said. "I'm going to keep those comments to myself.
"I think in this case, we're awaiting as much information as possible. I met with the league, I believe the league is meeting with other people in Baltimore as well. We'll wait for the details of that investigation and make our decision based off that."
The Banner first reported allegations against Tucker on Jan. 30.
"We were aware that a local media outlet was getting prepared to do a story on Justin Tucker," DeCosta said. "That was the first time we became aware of those allegations and the potential allegations that might result."
During his Tuesday afternoon press conference at the Combine, Head Coach John Harbaugh echoed DeCosta's sentiment about the seriousness of the allegations.
"It's not what you want to wake up and read," Harbaugh said. "It's not something you want to see…things that are hurtful, harmful, painful – there's too many headlines like that.
"The NFL's looking into it. They're going to review it, try to gather all the facts. Once there's an understanding of it, then you have a chance to make some decisions and determinations. That's where we're at right now."
