Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon was cleared to practice Friday after being designated to return from injured reserve.
The Ravens will have a 21-day window to determine whether to add Dixon to the active roster. The running back depth chart already includes Alex Collins, Javorius Allen, Ty Montgomery and Gus Edwards.
Dixon was placed on the injured list (knee) following an effective Week 1 performance, when he was Baltimore's leading rushing (44 yards and a touchdown) during a 47-3 rout over the Buffalo Bills. Dixon has shown promise during his career, but he has been plagued by injuries and suspensions. He has been sidelined for with three different knee injuries since he joined the team as a fourth-round pick in 2016.
The Ravens' running game has struggled, ranked 27th in the NFL heading into Sunday's game against the Bengals. If Dixon returns to action, the Ravens may give him an opportunity to provide the jolt the running game is seeking.
