Make room for a two-time MVP and the King. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are joining the Madden 99 club, EA Sports announced Wednesday.

Both players had carried 98 ratings in Madden NFL 25, but their spectacular seasons warranted elevation to the top tier. They are the first in-season duo of 99 club recipients in the video game's history.

It's Jackson and Henry's first time in the elite club and a long time coming. Jackson wasn’t even given a 99 when he was on the cover of Madden 21.

They join Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and 49ers left tackle Trent Williams as the only players currently with a 99 overall rating.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey began the year as 99s, but both were bumped down, making Jackson and Henry the top players at their positions.

Jackson and Henry are the Ravens' first 99s in the last 15 seasons. Ray Lewis was a 99 in Madden five years straight from 2002-2006. Ed Reed was a 99 from '06-'09. Jonathan Ogden was a 99 in '99, '02, '05, and '06.

In another Madden update, Ravens fullback Patrick Ricard has also been upped to a 99 in lead blocking. Ricard is one of the key blockers that has sprung Henry, who is second in the NFL in rushing with 1,407 yards.
