Lamar Jackson Reacts to Breaking Michael Vick's Rushing Record

Lamar Jackson has long been the most dynamic rushing quarterback in NFL history. Now he's officially the most accomplished.

Jackson surpassed Michael Vick for the most career rushing yards by a quarterback on Christmas Day against the Houston Texans.

Vick had 6,109 career rushing yards in 13 seasons. Jackson got 6,110 in his seventh season.

"It feels unreal, to be honest with you," Jackson said. "I just give God all the glory. I'm grateful, man, because that's a record that's been held for a long time with Michael Vick, one of my favorite players. That's just dope."

Jackson broke the record on a 6-yard run in the third quarter, nearly reaching the end zone for a second time.

He did most of his damage, however, with a 48-yard touchdown run on the previous drive, exploding through the Texans defense for his longest run of the season. It was also the fastest run of his career, in which he reached 21.25 mph, per Next Gen Stats.

"I was jogging," Jackson said with a laugh.

Jackson grew up watching Vick and appreciating the way he played the game. Now it's Jackson who is on top as the greatest dual-threat quarterback ever.

At this point, Head Coach John Harbaugh is struggling to come up with new ways to describe what Jackson is accomplishing.

"What could you say that would maybe parallel what he did? It's just another phenomenal performance," Harbaugh said. "He set the all-time NFL record for rushing yards in the National Football League, pro football. That kind of speaks for itself."
