After missing significant time last season, Mark Andrews is back. Andrews has been an elite fantasy tight end for the last handful of years, and 2024 won't be different.
Here's what to know about Andrews ahead of your fantasy football draft:
Last Year's Production
2023 Stats: 10 games, 45 receptions, 544 receiving yards, 6 receiving TDs, 135.4 PPR fantasy points, TE15 (ESPN)
Andrews played just 10 regular season games after suffering a serious leg injury but still finished as TE15. He was consistently productive in 2023, hauling in at least four catches in eight of his nine complete games, and he also added two multi-touchdown outings.
Projected Role/Production
ESPN: 74 receptions, 819 receiving yards, 7 receiving TDs, 197.2 PPR fantasy points (TE3)
Andrews has legitimate TE1 upside in 2024. He's a go-to target for two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, and Baltimore's offense should be explosive, setting up plenty of scoring opportunities. He's also totally healthy after last year's injury.
Year 2 with Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken could bring some more wrinkles as everyone gets more comfortable in the system. When Andrews is on the field, he's been a top-tier fantasy tight end, and that won't change this season.
Why He Could Outperform ADP
According to an average of major fantasy football websites, Andrews' average draft position (ADP) is 45.6, which is the end of the fourth round in a 12-team league. He has the third-highest ADP amongst tight ends.
The tight end position lacks depth, and if Andrews has a monster season like he's capable of, the delta between him and other starting fantasy tight ends could be significant. Adding Derrick Henry into the mix could cause opposing defenses to sell out more against the run, giving Andrews and other Ravens pass-catchers lighter coverage.
Potential Roadblocks
While Andrews is the top tight end in Baltimore, Isaiah Likely proved himself last season when Andrews was sidelined. Likely finished last season with 411 yards and five touchdowns and had maybe the strongest training camp of anyone on the Ravens. If Monken gets Andrews and Likely on the field more together, that could eat into Andrews' targets.
Andrews has missed some practice time at the end of training camp after being part of a car accident, but Head Coach John Harbaugh said it's not something to worry about. Andrews is expected to play Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
