Media Advisory - Ravens Practice Schedule/Media Policy

Ravens PRACTICE Schedule/Media Policy

Beginning Saturday, Aug. 25, the Baltimore Ravens will enter their regular season practice/reporting mode, with approximately the first 30 minutes of practice being open for media viewing.

Interviews for the coming week will continue to take place on-field following practice. After the team's roster is reduced to 53 players on Aug. 31, the Ravens will resume open locker room interview sessions.

For the next week, all interview requests must continue to be made at least 24 hours in advance and be submitted to director of media relations Chad Steele (chad.steele@ravens.nfl.net) or public/media relations manager Patrick Gleason (patrick.gleason@ravens.nfl.net). Please note that certain position groups will still have weightlifting responsibilities following practice, and those players will not be available for interviews.

2012 BALTIMORE RAVENS REGULAR SEASON MEDIA POLICIES

*For accredited, regular season media only.

Practice Media Viewing: Photos and Video
Approximately the first 30 minutes of practice will be open for media viewing. Still photography and videotaping are only allowed during individual drills/warm-ups or when players are entering the practice fields. No portion of special teams practice may be captured on video or by photo.

Practice Re-Entry
There is no re-entry to the open part of any practice. In other words, if a media member leaves the practice area to go inside and report, including Tweeting, that reporter cannot return to practice.

Tactical Information
As consistent with previous seasons, nothing can be reported that is of a tactical nature. This includes any information that can help an opponent prepare to play the Ravens. Formations, who is lining up where, who is rushing the quarterback (and from where), gimmick plays, etc., are included in tactical information.

Injury Information
As required by the NFL, injuries that occur during open practices can be reported. However, unless a player is viewed at practice during these open sessions wearing protective or rehabilitative devices/equipment, these devices/equipment cannot be reported. (In other words, we are asking reporters to only report what they see on the practice field or in press conferences. We've had instances in recent years when media members lingered in our lobby and reported players wearing things such as protective boots.)

Electronic and Battery-Powered Equipment
These, especially cell phones, may not be used on the field. For those who have iPads or other tablets to take notes, these can be used, but only after receiving clearance from a Ravens' PR official.
