The Baltimore Ravens and S Bernard Pollard have agreed to a two-year contract, executive vice president/general manager Ozzie Newsome announced Thursday afternoon.
Pollard (6-1, 224), a 2006 second-round selection (54th overall) of the Kansas City Chiefs, has played five NFL seasons, including the last two with the Houston Texans. In 2010, he led the Texans in both tackles (111) and forced fumbles (four), while adding 2.5 sacks (-14 yards).
In 76 career games (59 starts), Pollard has amassed 402 tackles (324 solo), 5.0 sacks (-28.5 yards), seven interceptions (144 yards – one touchdown return), 27 passes defensed, eight forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.
Prior to joining Houston as a free agent in 2009, Pollard played in 48 games (31 starts) with the Chiefs.
