The Ravens' 2019 preseason schedule has been announced, and it's friendlier than last year's. Here's the schedule:
Thursday, Aug. 8 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Thursday, Aug. 15 vs. Green Bay Packers
Thursday, Aug. 22 at Philadelphia Eagles
Thursday, Aug. 29 at Washington Redskins
What's especially notable is the lack of wear and tear the schedule will put on the Ravens before the regular season kicks off.
The Ravens won't have to get on a plane this preseason, playing both road games a short trip from Baltimore.
It's one fewer game than last year, when the Ravens participated in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The games are also all a week apart, each on a Thursday night. Baltimore doesn't have any nationally-televised preseason games.
Baltimore has won 13 straight preseason games, going undefeated in 2018, 2017 and 2016. They are 33-12 in the preseason under Head Coach John Harbaugh.
The Ravens will again sharpen themselves by holding joint practices with the Jaguars and Eagles in advance of those preseason games. Harbaugh was pleased with the joint practices the Ravens had with the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts in 2018.
"I just think it gives you a chance to see some different schemes as much as anything, and some different players," he said. "You have an opportunity for your guys to go against guys that they haven't gone (against) in training camp."
Baltimore's 2019 regular season schedule is expected to be announced sometime before the NFL Draft later this month. The team's opponents and locations have already been determined, so it will reveal dates and times.
All preseason games will be televised with broadcasters Gerry Sandusky, Brian Billick, and Evan Washburn on WBAL (Baltimore), WJLA (Washington DC), WMDT (Salisbury) and WGAL (York, Lancaster, Harrisburg), and via radio on 98 Rock (FM), WBAL (1090 AM), and the Ravens radio network.
