Ravens 9.5-Point Underdogs ... Again

The Ravens are in a familiar spot this week.

As they prepare to head to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots in the AFC championship, the Ravens are once again heavy underdogs.

The early point spreads have the Ravens as a 9.5-point underdog, the exact same spread for last week's game against the Broncos.

"I don't really care about the underdog stuff," wide receiver Torrey Smith said. "It's not like I'm going to go out there and catch a first down and be like, 'Whoa, these guys didn't think we were going to do this!' It's not about that at all. For us we want to go out there and win."

The Ravens have been overlooked throughout the playoffs, and weren't a popular pick among media pundits at the start of the postseason after losing three of their final four games of the regular season. Before Saturday's matchup with the Broncos, only four of 36 prominent media members expected the Ravens to win.

After the thrilling comeback to beat Denver, the Ravens still aren’t getting much respect in the national media.

And they have no problem with that.

"That's just whatever everyone else thinks," defensive tackle Haloti Ngata said. "We in here, on our team, we believe in ourselves. Whatever everyone else thinks, that's their thoughts and we'll just have to go back out there and prove people wrong again."
