What the Bills Said After Losing to the Ravens

What the Bills Said

Head Coach Sean McDermott

On losing to the Ravens:

"I'll give credit where credit's due. The Baltimore Ravens came out, and they beat us. They outplayed us. They outcoached us."

On Derrick Henry's 87-yard touchdown on Baltimore's first play:

"It was schemed up well, yes, because they executed, and we really didn't even touch the running back. They ran what we call, 'Wham,' against our three technique, there. We've got to be in better position."

On Baltimore's pressure:

"I think it was a combination of four-man rush and then some pressures and some blitzing, as well. It seemed like we could not get into a rhythm enough offensively. Then in particular, in the high-red, some of the fringe area, they were either pressuring or getting pressure with their four."

On not being able to stop Henry:

"When you give up the first run, he's running downhill the rest of the night, basically, so again, point of attack defense [and] gap integrity. He's a good running back and a heck of a player, future Hall of Famer. Give him his credit."

QB Josh Allen

On Baltimore's defense:

"Make no mistake, that's a great team that we just played. When they're playing that well, especially on the offensive side of the ball, we as an offense have to figure it out and find a way to match scores. Again, we didn't do a good enough job tonight."

On the Ravens' game plan:

"It was execution on them. They had a good game. Those guys on that side get paid, too. They made more plays than us. We'll learn from it, and we'll be better from this one."

CB Rasul Douglas

On the game overall:

"We couldn't get anything going on both sides. Usually if one side is struggling, the other one is there to pick us up. I feel like this game, neither one of us could pick each other up. It was just one of those games where you were like, 'damn.'"

On trying to slow Henry:

"That first [touchdown] was really on me. I need to make the play, and then after that, it was like, 'Come on now.' We just need to do something on the defensive side of the ball."

LB Baylon Spector

On the Ravens' physicality:

"We have to come out and be ready to play earlier. They had our number tonight, and they came out and out-physicalled us and dominated on the line of scrimmage. And that is one of our goals each and every week – to come out and be physical, and they came out and got on us."

LB Dorian Williams

On Henry's long touchdown run:

"Yeah, they had a good play call, and we've got to make a play. [We've] got to make a play [and] find a way to get them on the ground."
