The Ravens scooped up defensive back Kai Nacua off waivers Tuesday afternoon after he was released by the Cleveland Browns.
Nacua played in 16 games, including three starts, last year in Cleveland. He made 14 tackles and had a presence on special teams.
The undrafted Brigham Young product stands in at 6-foot-0, 205 pounds. He was considered one of the biggest prizes in the undrafted rookie pool a year ago.
Nacua was one of college football's biggest ballhawks during his final two seasons in college. He had six interceptions in 2015, including two returned for touchdowns, then grabbed another six picks in 2016. He had eight interceptions in 34 career games.
The Browns were heavy in their defensive backfield after drafting cornerback Denzel Ward at No. 4 overall and grabbing cornerback Simeon Thomas in the sixth round.
Baltimore drafted cornerback Anthony Averett in the fourth round and safety DeShon Elliott in the sixth, but is always looking for more competition and possible special teams standouts.
