*FRIDAY PODIUM TRANSCRIPT: Week 11 at Packers
Head Coach John Harbaugh
**What did you see from RB Danny Woodhead at practice this week? What are his chances of being activated this week? *(Luke Jones) *"He went through most of everything we did. I thought he looked pretty good. It's just going to come down to the doctors and trainers making their decision. We have until Saturday to make that part of the decision, then really, we have until an hour-and-a-half before the game to really determined whether he will be out there. We're ready if he goes, and we're ready if he doesn't go."
A lot of fans thought that the tight ends might be able to replicate what Dennis Pitta had done last year. Is that an unreasonable expectation that they could, sort of, replicate the numbers? (Ed Lee) "I don't even think of it like that. Our guys are doing a good job. They're doing a good job."
First real cold weather game. Are you looking forward [to it]? I know you don't like the cold weather, but maybe the big fellas might. (Jim Forner)"The big guys do like the cold weather – there's no doubt. It's funny … I walk out there to practice, and I'm pretty sure I don't have enough on. Then, I'll see [Ryan] Jensen, and he's like, 'Oh, this is great! I love this weather!' The forecasts are going up; we see it climbing a little bit. It's up in the high 20s now – so, we're happy about that." (Reporter: "So, it won't be a frozen tundra, right?") "I don't know. *(laughter) *They probably heat the field, I guess. But hey, it's winter everywhere. We're ready to go, and we're excited to play a football game. We haven't played for a couple weeks. We're in the race. We've worked very hard all year to be in this position, and we want to make the most of it – and that's really all we're thinking about."
I know we've talked about Green Bay QB Brett Hundley, but RB Jamaal Williams doesn't have a lot of tape on him. Head coach Mike McCarthy announced today that RB Ty Montgomery isn't playing. What were your impressions from the work Williams did, especially in the second half against the Bears? (Jeff Zrebiec) "He was impressive. I think they have two good, young backs. They drafted three backs this year, and they've all panned out for them. This kid from Brigham Young – he's the real deal. He runs hard, he has [good] feet. I think he closed the game out for them last week in four-minute [offense], which is very impressive. We're treating him like he's Jim Taylor, as far as we're concerned. We have to be ready to stop the run. This is a good running team. These guys run the ball very well. Coach [Mike] McCarthy does a great job of keeping you off-balance with personnel groups. They can line up guys everywhere. [Randall] Cobb will be in the backfield. You just never know who you're going to get, where. It's a very well-schemed offense. So, we're going to have our hands full with that part of it. Then, the physicality part of it, it's a very physical offensive line, physical running game. That's what we're preparing for."
LT Ronnie Stanley is listed on the injury report with a concussion. Was he injured in the Tennessee game, or is that something that happened after that? (Bo Smolka)"It was in the Tennessee game, correct, right toward the end of the game there."
