A few hundred people packed into the club level at M&T Bank Stadium Tuesday evening for the team's annual State of the Ravens.
The private event is for the team's suite holders, and it affords them a chance to hear from the organization's power brokers in a unique environment.
The program started with Ravens President Dick Cass sharing an update on the significant building upgrades being made at M&T Bank Stadium, then continued into a conversation with Head Coach John Harbaugh and General Manager Ozzie Newsome.
"State of the Ravens is our signature event," Ravens Director of Suite Sales & Business Development Josh Hartman said. "Along with their financial commitment to our organization, our suite owners and local business partners make a significant investment emotionally in our franchise. Right on the heels of the NFL Draft, you could already feel our partners' passion for our team tonight during the interactions with Coach Harbaugh and Ozzie."
Ravens Sr. Vice President of Public and Community Relations Kevin Byrne moderated the private discussion with Harbaugh and Newsome, where those in attendance could ask any questions they had about the team.
The topics included the team's recent draft and what moves the team still needs to make before the start of the season.
"The single greatest benefit is the candor that Ozzie and John show," said Arthur Adler, a partner at real estate developer Caves Valley Partners. "We get to ask questions and get insights into the team and how they think. It gives you even more respect for the organization when you really listen to how thoughtful they are about the decisions they make."
The event is part of an effort by the Ravens to provide their suite owners with various business-to-business experiences to bring added value that extends beyond Sundays at M&T Bank Stadium.
"Probably better than any organization, they take care of the suite holders," said Larry Letow, the CEO of Convergence Technology Consulting. "This is a really good time for us to gain that insight. Every year, Ozzie drops some information that we don't know, and that's pretty special."
