Jonathan Ogden has been watching Ronnie Stanley since Stanley was in high school.
Ogden and Stanley were both living in Las Vegas when Stanley played at Bishop Gorman High School, and the Hall-of-Fame left tackle watched as Stanley was drafted by the Ravens No. 6 overall in 2016.
Now, Stanley is in Year 9 as the blindside blocker in Baltimore and his relationship with the greatest Ravens left tackle of all time has only strengthened. The two sat down for an exclusive interview as part of the Ravens' new Legends 1-on-1 series and discussed what it means to be a Raven.
"I feel like the more I've been here, I feel like the more appreciative I am for the organization, and I feel like a lot of teams out there don't really have everyone kind of focused on the brand," Stanley said. "I feel like the Ravens, you're really fighting for the brand. And I feel like the brand is more important than any one person."
"It's just a good lineage of good people who know how to run a good organization," Ogden added. "It's very professional. Like you said, a very family-oriented place. I enjoyed it. We always try to go things the right way here."
Stanley also talked about golfing with Ogden during his rookie season. Stanley isn't much of a golfer, but he wasn't going to pass up a few hours with Ogden.
"I'm very appreciative. You were always open to communicate with me from a young age and anytime I had questions, you always helped me," Stanley said. "I felt like that definitely helped me [during] the younger part of my career because there's not a lot of Hall of Fame left tackles that I know personally."
"It's just about trying to keep the Raven spirit, the offensive line spirit," Ogden said. "Offensive line is about a brotherhood. We're all together and we're all a part of the same team. Even though I'm not playing anymore, I still consider myself part of the Ravens team, the Ravens family."
