If you looked to the sky in Baltimore on Thursday night, you saw the Ravens joining a global show of support and gratitude to health care professionals and essential workers during the COVID-19 crisis.
As part of the #LightItBlue campaign, the Ravens used their LED technology to flood M&T Bank Stadium in blue lights. And thanks to help from Image Engineering in Baltimore, there was also a large blue beam shot between M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The campaign started in the United Kingdom and spread across the United States. It began at 8 p.m. (local time) on Thursday night. More than 350 U.S. sports venues and other landmarks took part in the initiative, which also included messages of support.
The tribute does not have any commercial benefit. It's an all-volunteer effort being undertaken by entertainment and events industry professionals. Other teams from around the NFL jumped in to support the cause as well.
