Let's hope Ravens fans didn't buy all their jerseys yet for the 2016 season.
Baltimore updated its roster and there's a whopping 14 jersey number changes and new assignments now that the 53-man roster has been set.
Here are the new jersey assignments (old jersey number in parenthesis):
- CB Kyle Arrington – 35 (24)
- WR Michael Campanaro – 12 (15)
- CB Maurice Canady – 39 (49)
- CB Will Davis – 31 (39)
- S Matt Elam – 33 (26)
- QB David Fales – 2
- WR/RS Devin Hester Sr. – 14
- RB Stephen Houston – 43 (33)
- QB Ryan Mallett – 15 (7)
- ILB Cavellis Luckett – 49 (46)
- CB Jerraud Powers – 26 (36)
- WR Mike Wallace – 17 (12)
- CB Shareece Wright – 24 (35)
- CB Tavon Young – 36 (43)
Of particular note, Wallace returned to the number he wore during his best seasons as a Pittsburgh Steeler. He wore No. 11 with the Miami and Minnesota.
Mallett wore No. 15 with New England and Houston, as well as in college at Arkansas.
Wright has wanted No. 24 all along, which is the number he wore in college at USC, but was stuck with No. 29 as a San Diego Charger and No. 35 last year with the Ravens. He briefly had No. 24 in San Francisco before being released.
Hester wore No. 23 (currently owned by safety Kendrick Lewis) in Chicago and No. 17 (owned by Wallace) in Atlanta. He was No. 4 in college at Miami, so 14 may be the closest he can get to a former number.
The other addition is the "Sr." at the end of Devin Hester's name, which caught the attention of wide receiver Steve Smith Sr., who added the Sr. when he arrived in Baltimore in 2014. Safety/linebacker Anthony Levine added the Sr. to his name last year.
"I was giving Hester a little bit of mess on his last name, but that is another story in itself," Smith said Wednesday. "Hester, uh Sr.?* *Yeah, I know, 20-year-old seniors, huh? It's kind of chapping me right now."
