Before the ring of fans' screams was probably out of their ears, the Ravens were back to work.
The day after parading through Baltimore's streets with the Lombardi Trophy, Ravens coaches and front office met for eight hours to discuss their roster.
The group included Owner Steve Bisciotti and General Manager Ozzie Newsome.
"Thank you for letting me have off for the parade on Tuesday. That was very kind of you," Bisciotti joked to Newsome. "I drove home last night thinking, 'He is a tough boss, man. He didn't give me one day to enjoy this.'"
The Ravens are right back to work after winning the Super Bowl.
This is the way Newsome's mind works – and he's not alone.
When asked how the team will move forward, Newsome first said he felt they are already five weeks behind the rest of the league because of their Super Bowl run.
"I will take that five weeks behind the league every year," he said with a laugh. "We've started already."
After holding personnel meetings this week, the Ravens brass will head to Jupiter, Fla., to discuss every free agency scenario and who they will aim to keep and let go this offseason.
That powwow will include Bisciotti, Newsome, President Dick Cass, Head Coach John Harbaugh, Assistant General Manager Eric DeCosta and Vice President of Football Administration Pat Moriarty.
As soon as they get back from Florida, they'll prepare for the NFL Scouting Combine and start having draft meetings.
"It's full speed ahead," Newsome said. "But I think with the people that we have in place in charge of different areas, we'll be able to move through it very smoothly."
"You do the same thing you do every year, and we're going to try to sink our pilings deep into bedrock again this year, starting, really this week already, the day after the game, and we just go back to work," Harbaugh added.
Harbaugh said he hasn't reflected yet much on the Super Bowl victory. It's onto the next season.
"We talked to our team about [how] we've got to improve," Harbaugh said. "We have to get better next year as a football team. That's always going to be our goal. Jah Reid is in the weight room right now lifting as we speak. So that's what we'll be all about going forward."
