De'Anthony Thomas ended last season as the Ravens' primary returner, and he will get an opportunity to continue in that role.
The Ravens have re-signed Thomas to a one-year contract the team announced Saturday. The 27-year-old returner/wide receiver joined Baltimore in Week 10 last year after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs. In eight games with the Ravens, Thomas returned 13 punts for 93 yards (7.2 average) and returned 10 kicks for 166 yards (16.6 average).
Thomas had his best NFL season in 2014 as a rookie with the Chiefs after being drafted in the fourth round. He had an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown that season, and he was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in December of 2014 after returning punts for 156 yards against the Oakland Raiders.
Thomas was excited to sign with the Ravens last year, and the new deal gives him a chance to play another season in Baltimore.
