UPDATE:The Ravens signed running back Terrence Magee to the practice squad Thursday after he cleared waivers. To make room for Magee on the practice squad, the Ravens cut tight end Dominique Jones.

The Ravens have released undrafted rookie running back Terrence Magee.

Baltimore made the move to clear a spot on the 53-man roster for cornerback Will Davis after acquiring him in a trade with the Dolphins Monday.

Magee was initially released by the Ravens as part of their final cutdown before the regular season. He was placed on the practice squad and ultimately elevated to the active roster while backup running back Lorenzo Taliaferro recovered from a knee injury.

Taliaferro returned to the field Sunday after missing just one game, giving the Ravens four healthy running backs with him, Magee, Buck Allen and starter Justin Forsett. Magee was a healthy scratch against the Raiders.

Magee, an undrafted prospect out of LSU, was a standout of the preseason. He carried 28 times for 115 yards in the preseason, playing his way onto the active roster despite his long odds.

Magee is a candidate to return to the practice squad if he clears waivers. He could give the Ravens additional depth if one of the running backs were to get hurt again.
