Ravens Retain Five Assistants

The Baltimore Ravens have retained five coaches from the 2007 staff. Head coach John Harbaugh made the announcement today.

Defensive line coach Clarence Brooks enters his fourth year with the Ravens and 16th year overall coaching. (The official announcement of his return was made Wednesday, two days after Harbaugh mentioned during Rex Ryan's Monday press conference that Brooks would be retained.)

Defensive backs coach Mark Carrier enters his third year with the Ravens and seventh year in coaching, following a successful NFL playing career.

Vic Fangio, special assistant to the head coach, enters his 23rd year coaching in the NFL, including his third with the Ravens.

Tight ends coach Wade Harman, who remains with Baltimore for his 10th season, is now in his 12th year as an NFL coach.

Outside linebackers coach Mike Pettine, who has held a number of roles in the last six years with the Ravens, enters his 21st year in coaching.
