The Ravens have added another piece to their wide receiver competition.
The team signed free agent wide receiver Marcus Rivers on Tuesday, adding the University of Buffalo product. Rivers went undrafted last season and eventually spent time on the Green Bay Packers 90-man roster. He was not on an NFL team's roster during the regular season.
To make room for Rivers, the Ravens cut quarterback Dayne Crist, an undrafted prospect out of Kansas.
Rivers will now join a competition at wide receiver that includes Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson, LaQuan Williams, David Reed, Tommy Streeter, Aaron Mellette, Gerrard Sheppard, Omarius Hines and Marlon Brown.
Rivers, 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, caught 60 passes for 615 yards and two touchdowns during his senior year at Buffalo. He finished his college career with eight touchdown receptions.
