Ravens To Rest Most Starters

The Ravens have decided to give most of the starters the night off in Thursday's preseason finale at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

Quarterback Joe Flacco, running back Ray Rice, linebacker Ray Lewis, safety Ed Reed, cornerback Lardarius Webb and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata are all among the starters not expected to take the field. The team did not release an official list of inactive players.

The Rams, however, **are planning to use their sarterts** into the second half.

With Flacco and Rice out, second-year quarterback Tyrod Taylor and rookie running back Bernard Pierce will get the opportunity to start. Taylor and fourth-year veteran Curtis Painter will likely split the quarterback duties.

Defensively, a handful of starters – cornerback Cary Williams, defensive lineman Art Jones and nose tackle Terrence Cody – are expected play about a series or two.

In terms of the non-starters, rookie wide receiver Tommy Streeter could be out after missing practice throughout the week with an undisclosed injury. Veteran safety Sean Considine has also not practiced after suffering concussions in the last two games, so he will likely be out.

Top tight ends Ed Dickson (shoulder sprain) and Dennis Pitta (broken hand) have also been ruled out already, despite returning to practice earlier this week.
