What the Browns Said After Losing to the Ravens

week 18 waht the opp said

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski

On how his defense played against the Ravens:

"I thought they were battling. We put them in some really tough spots. [We] didn't do a great job in the teams' units a couple of times there when they got the ball in plus territory. We had a turnover on downs where they got the ball in plus territory. So, we did not put [the defense] in some advantageous field positions, but they battled."

On DE Myles Garrett not getting a sack:

"Lamar [Jackson] is a very difficult quarterback to sack. But Myles [Garrett] battled, played the run, was chasing him, but battled."

On how the defense battled facing Lamar Jackson:

"I think when you're going up against a player of his caliber, you have to try to limit him, try to slow him down. There's certainly some plays that he made, especially on third down, I thought, escaping and making a few plays to get the ball down the field. It's a challenge when he's making the throws from the pocket. It's a challenge when you have to defend for the duration of the down with his ability to move."

RB D'Onta Foreman

On what wasn't working for the run game:

"I don't know. They just played better than us."

On his mindset coming into a game like Saturday's with the Browns already eliminated:

"For some guys, it was just trying to take advantage of the opportunity. A lot of guys played that haven't played. It's a lot of young guys, you know. So, I think it was kind of that trying to, you know, to get guys their opportunity. It sucked. It didn't go our way. Everybody practices hard each and every week. We just got to find a way to get better and grow from this."

DE Myles Garrett

On if this was the most difficult season of his NFL career:

"It's probably more of a disappointing season because of what we expected out of ourselves with what we built from the season before. That's how I take it."

On whether he feels the Browns are very far away from the Ravens or the gap can be closed next season:

"I feel like we can be better next season."
