Head Coach Mike Tomlin
On losing to the Ravens, 34-17:
"We didn't do what we needed to do to secure victory today. So, I congratulate the Ravens on their performance in the victory. Specifically, we didn't control the run game. We never did. When you don't, you've got to do some splash plays or win the turnover battle in a significant way, and we didn't do that either."
On how Derrick Henry hurt the Steelers the most in his 162-yard rushing game:
"We just didn't do a good enough job, gap integrity, tackling, fundamental things. They outperformed us in that area."
DT Cameron Heyward
On his feelings after the game:
"I'm disappointed in the outcome today. As a defense, we did not stop the run. When you do that, you can't really control the game. As a defense, there were too many missed tackles, errors and that's just a combination for not winning this game."
On the missed opportunity of being able to win the division:
"We didn't take advantage of that. We talked about it being a hat and T-shirt-type game, but just the recipe we had tonight was not conducive to winning this game. I talked about not stopping the run, not playing complementary football, and not controlling sudden change. I thought a couple of times we had longer fields as a defense, and we didn't get off in time. That just doesn't allow our team to play well."
On how Henry hurt the defense the most:
"Once [Henry] gets going, he goes north to south. It's hard to break him down. If there's a crease or a gap that's pretty wide, he's going to take advantage of that. If he gets to the second level ... I thought our DB's did a pretty good job of trying to get him down in instances. From the first quarter on, it felt like we never really got control of him."
LB Alex Highsmith
On Saturday's game:
"I think they were controlling the line of scrimmage. We didn't do a good job controlling the line of scrimmage today. Embarrassing to say the least. How they ran, the way they ran the ball against us. So, like I said, you just have to control the line of scrimmage, and if you don't, you have to win the turnover battle. We had a couple of balls on the ground, we didn't get any of them. And when they were on the ground, they got them."
On if their struggles at the line of scrimmage were schematic or personnel:
"We've just got to be physical. We weren't physical enough today, myself included. When we're successful, we get off blocks and make tackles. We didn't do that enough today. Just have to be more physical, especially playing a team like this. They're one of the best in the league and we've got to play physical when we play them."
RB Jaylen Warren
On losing to the Ravens:
"As a team, you don't like to lose. But yeah, this one, it hits different."
LB T.J. Watt
On what went wrong for the Steelers:
"I mean, they were difficult. They made more plays overall when the ball was on the ground. It didn't bounce our way. And a [96]-yard drive can't happen. I don't even know if we got off the field on third down tonight. I don't think we had any three-and-outs tonight. We had a tough time."
On what went wrong against Henry:
"It comes down to just playing sound defense. Just the simple things, tackling, myself included, being gap sound, relying on everybody in the gap game. And ultimately, getting the runner down, and we didn't do that enough tonight."
QB Russell Wilson
On his fourth quarter interception:
"I think that definitely changed the game, when they got that interception. I thought our defense did a good job of getting the ball back. On the throw to [MyCole Pruitt] I felt the ball just stayed inside, unfortunately, and they just made a play."
