It looks like Ray Lewis' No. 52 jersey isn't retired after all.
The Ravens have long had a tradition of swapping jerseys for their final full practice before each regular-season game. Ray Rice (Little Ray) and Ray Lewis (Big Ray) used to* *swap No. 27 and No. 52.
Even though Lewis is no longer around, Rice is still upholding the tradition.
He came walking off the practice field Tuesday afternoon proudly wearing Lewis' No. 52.
"I found it in the archives," Rice said with a smile.
"I'm carrying [his legacy] on. You can't change, man. This is what kept me successful."
The superstitious Rice doesn't want to let go of "The General," [quotes] who he sat next to in the locker room for the past two years. Rice also is trying to convince Lewis to fly out to Denver for Thursday night's game.
Rice said he didn't call Lewis to ask if he could wear his jersey. He said he dug it out of the back of the team's equipment room.
