Ravens pending free agent safety Matt Elam was reportedly arrested in Miami early Sunday morning on drug charges, according to Pro Football Talk.
Elam, 25, was booked on charges of possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to sell or deliver, and possession of a controlled substance, per the report.
"We are aware of the arrest of Matt Elam," the Ravens said in a release. "Matt is not in our plans for the 2017 Ravens."
Elam was the Ravens' first-round draft pick in 2013, but has struggled to find his way since then.
The Florida product started 15 games as a rookie and made 77 tackles and one interception, but lost his starting job during the 2014 season and missed all of 2015 with a torn biceps. A preseason knee injury sidelined him for all but nine games in 2016.
The Ravens didn't pick up Elam's fifth-year option, and he will become a free agent in less than two weeks.
