The NFL handed down fines to Ravens running back Ray Rice, right guard Marshal Yanda and cornerback Cary Williams for penalties they were issued in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
All three players were fined for unnecessary roughness calls that came after the whistle.
Williams was hit with a $10,000 fine, while Rice and Yanda were both fined $7,875, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.
"I just feel like it was a chippy game," Williams Sunday said after the game. "Sometimes that's the way it is in the league. It had huge implications on the season."
The penalty on Williams came in the second quarter when he and Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson got into a scrum after a play. The two were jawing at each other for much of the game, and they were hit with offsetting foul penalties after a skirmish.
"You just want to play well and sometimes emotions get the best of you and we need to do a better job of keeping our emotions intact and just making smarter plays," Williams said.
Yanda was penalized in the first quarter when he and Eagles defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins got into a shoving match after the play. Those penalties were also offsetting.
The officials hit Rice with an unnecessary roughness penalty on the Ravens first drive of the third quarter. He was the only player in the game to get an unnecessary roughness penalty that was not offsetting.
The replacement officials could be quick with the whistles this weekend, as the NFL sent a memo to all 32 teams warning them to respect the officials or they could face fines or possibly even suspensions.
