The Ravens added a small-school center on the third day of last year's draft.
They did the same thing again this year.
The Ravens selected Ryan Jensen out of Colorado State-Pueblo in the sixth round (No. 203, compensatory), adding another player to compete with last year's fourth-round pick Gino Gradkowski for the open spot at center.
Jensen and Gradkowski are the only two centers currently on the roster.
"We have a chance to get a little competition at center," Head Coach John Harbaugh said on NFL Network after the pick. "We've got two guys there that we really like a lot."
Jensen, 6-foot-4 and 317 pounds, played offensive tackle in college, but he projects as an interior lineman at the professional level.
"We are going to start him off at center," Harbaugh said. "[Run Game Coordinator] Juan Castillo worked him out in Colorado and worked him out as a center, so that was something we thought he has a chance and potential to do."
While he didn't attend the NFL Scouting Combine, the Division II prospect attracted the attention of NFL scouts throughout the pre-draft process and the Ravens saw him work out at the Colorado State Pro Day last month.
