I really want to do karaoke with Ravens safety Matt Elam.
While shooting a video feature on his return to Florida to get his degree and learn on the job at Finish Line, Elam took our BaltimoreRavens.com cameras around his old athletic college stomping grounds.
That's when he came across the "Gator Fight Song." Let the fun begin.
Here's how it actually goes:
Cheer for the Orange and Blue
Waving forever pride of old Flor-i-da
May she droop never.
We'll sing a song for the flag today
Cheer for the team at play
On to the goal We'll fight our way for Flor-i-da
Go Gators!
Now tell me how many of those words Elam hits. I'm not sure what he said on that next to last line.
Here's what I love about Elam. He doesn't let his natural singing talent (or lack thereof) hold him back from trying. It's kind of becoming his calling card.
I fondly remember this gem, the "Ravens 12 Days of Christmas." Fast forward to day No. 11. You'll hear the laughter in the background.
Keep singing Matt, keep singing.
