The Caw: 'Real Fan Dan' Getting Season Tickets From John Harbaugh?

It's a credit to Head Coach John Harbaugh that he hasn't noticed "Real Fan Dan," a.k.a. Dan Gronofsky, before.

Harbs must be so focused on the job at hand that he didn't realize Gronofsky has been featured on the RavensVision boards all season long.

On the other hand, I drop whatever I'm doing in the press box to watch this dude rip off his shirt and start bouncing that big old belly around spelling out R-A-V-E-N-S.

"The fans were incredible," Harbaugh said after Sunday's 20-17 win over the Steelers.

"We had the Raven [fan] guy down there, doing his thing. It's funny, my wife asked me if I saw the Raven guy – the guy that takes off his shirt – I had never seen him before, I've never noticed him before."

Cornerback Jimmy Smith, who was also in the press conference room, responded that this is the first year Gronofsky has done his thing. Wrong you are, sir!

He's been doing it since 1998 and all of you should read the full-blown expose I wrote about him in November.

Granofsky only started appearing on the RavensVision boards this year because the stadium's camera alignment changed, which gave them the ability to shoot into his section (532). Previously, it was a dead zone.

"Well, we're bringing him back. Take care of that guy's tickets," Harbaugh said.

I'm not sure if the power to grant season tickets is written into Harbs' contract, but I'm sure he can pull a few strings.
