HEAD COACH JOHN HARBAUGH
John, I'm not going to say there's a wager among the media on this, but are you going to name a starting quarterback today? (Jamison Hensley) "Where does the money seem to be? Which side does that seem to be on?" (laughter) (Reporter: "Some people have faith in you, and some people do not.") "There are probably high odds in one direction. (laughter) I'm probably not going to name a quarterback today. That's probably all I have to say on the matter."
Do you feel good about what QB Matt Schaub was able to do? I know he was a full participant yesterday in practice. (Luke Jones) "I do. He looked good. I won't say he's 100-percent, but by Sunday he has a chance to be 100-percent. He looked good. He's a tough guy. He worked hard this week."
Looking at this Chiefs defense, they're really strong against the run, obviously. How important is it to set the tone and dictate how the game is going to go? (Turron Davenport) "It is. Running the ball is really important, and we need to continue to get better with our results. We need more yards. We need more yards per carry. We need more yards per carry early in the game. That's going to help us get more first downs, and obviously, score more points. They're tough. They're tough against the run, tough against the pass. They're just a good defense. That part of it – getting the lead – would help us. We haven't been in the lead nearly as much as we needed to be up until this point this year. Getting the lead, obviously, helps you run the ball throughout the course of the game. Those are all very important, yes."
I remember last year – I believe – at the end of the regular season, the Chiefs beat the Chargers to help the Ravens get in the playoffs, and you said you'd take Chiefs head coach Andy Reid out to dinner. Did that dinner ever happen? (Ryan Mink) "Not yet. (laughter) It will. We hung out … We did hang out at the Combine and at the owners' meetings, so we had some time together. Yes, I think he's probably going to hold me to that, absolutely." (laughter) (Reporter: "Sorry to bring it up.") "Thanks. Hey, I'd enjoy that. That'd be fun. It'll be fun when we do it, and we will do it. He won't forget that, I'm quite sure."
John, did you get a chance this week to catch up with OLB Terrell Suggs with him being in the building? (Jeff Zrebiec) "No. We didn't get a chance to see him, yet. You mean at any time, or recently?" (Reporter: "I meant this week. A couple players had tweeted out pictures of him being in the building.") "No, I didn't talk to him this week. But I talked to him earlier, yes."
