Head Coach Andy Reid
Opening Statement:
"What a wild environment down there, it was two heavyweights in a fight right down to the end. When they say it's a game of inches, it might be shorter than that."
On his perspective on the last play:
"I was staring at it, yeah. The guys upstairs saw it, so they knew he (Isaiah Likely) was out. We were just kind of waiting after that, but we battled so hard down the stretch for it to come down to that."
On Isiah Pacheco's touchdown and Patrick Mahomes pushing the pile:
"I was hoping he (Mahomes) would keep his legs out of the way – and arm. That's how he is. I mean you're not going to stop that. I don't recommend it – but he's a competitor."
On Baltimore's defensive front:
"That's a good front all the way around there. That's a good football team all the way around, but that defensive front is really what they're built on [and] our offensive line knew that."
On the illegal formation calls:
"You saw the officials. They've warned us here now [and] throughout. They didn't hold back from calling anything. They were pretty stingy with they were going to nail you – I'm glad we were on defense first so they could get their point across. It helped our tackles, [and] I didn't have to say all of that."
QB Patrick Mahomes
On the Ravens' final play:
"Definitely nerve racking. It looked good from my angle on the sideline, but then the first view you saw you could see the cleat. It's a great football team and I'm sure we'll see them again at some point in the playoffs. Now, we're happy with the win. [You] just have to wear white cleats next time, that's my advice for him (Likely)."
On Kansas City's last touchdown:
"You could see it, there was a bust in coverage. From where the corner was playing, I looked out there and I saw how he was playing, and I was like, 'I think he's playing Cover 2, but the safety's not there.' …I think everybody else played Cover 2, too. There wasn't a safety there and I just fired it to him, and he (Xavier Worthy) scored a touchdown. Definitely a bust in coverage but that happens early in the year, and I just had to take advantage of it."
On Pacheco's touchdown:
"He got to right at the goal line, and I felt like I could just give him a little shoulder in there. I don't know if I gave him much, but I felt like I moved him off directly in there and he fell through, but I fell through too, so I felt like I scored a touchdown as well. I feel like I should get at least half a touchdown…I mean, just – we were struggling in the redzone, so I was just trying to find a way to get in. That's a tough defense, especially down there. We needed that touchdown, so I just put my body on the line to get in there."
On Roquan Smith's interception:
"I probably should've just thrown it to Trav (Travis Kelce) and I tried to get a little greedy and get back to Rashee (Rice) and he was open. Just the way that I awkwardly was trying to throw the football, I couldn't get what I wanted to on there. Roquan was in the area but I thought I could've made the throw. It just didn't make it and he made a great play. (I) put our defense in a bad spot and they were able to hold them to three, which obviously was very big in the end."
On catching his pass that was deflected by Trenton Simpson:
"If I could've just got it over the guy, it was going to be a first down. I could see Trav about to block Roquan and Rashee was going to catch it, but the kid made a great play. I think it was No. 23 (Simpson). He jumped up, made a great play and hit it in the air. I wanted to catch it so the clock would run down to two minutes and run some time off for our defense. I know I only got two yards, but I thought it was a pretty good catch so maybe we can get Coach Reid to throw me a pass here somewhere."
WR Xavier Worthy
On his reverse touchdown:
"We ran that in the preseason and I fumbled. For them to have that trust in me, I told (Offensive Coordinator Matt) Nagy that I think this play is going to score and it happened. It was an amazing moment, my first touch being a touchdown in the NFL."
DT Chris Jones
On Leo Chenal spying Lamar Jackson:
"He did a really good job. We ask a lot from Leo. We ask him to play 3-tech in certain formations. We ask him to play rover. We ask him to be an outside rusher. It just goes to show how durable Leo is for this defense."
On the game's final play:
"First off, heck of a job by them to even get it in the red zone with like 40 seconds left to go. There was a lot of effort and a lot of grit that was played in the last few plays by our defense. We were able to hold on. We were inches away from going into overtime in the first game of the year. We knew it was going to be a battle. It was an exciting game that came down to literally the end. That's a playoff caliber team right there with an MVP quarterback. We look forward to seeing them later on down the road."
