Upshaw Listed As Probable
Top draft pick Courtney Upshaw looks like he'll be ready to go for his first NFL game.
The rookie outside linebacker dealt with a shoulder injury during the preseason, but he is listed as probable for Monday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Upshaw missed only a couple of practices and the first preseason game, but he reaggravated the shoulder injury during the preseason finale against St. Louis and needed to have an MRI to assess the damage.
Upshaw was a full participant during practice throughout the week and he told reporters that he expects to play.
"I feel great," Upshaw said Wednesday. "The treatment has gone well."
Considine Cleared For Contact
Veteran safety Sean Considine is also listed as probable on the final injury report after suffering a concussion during the preseason. Considine was a full participant during Friday and Saturday's practice and looks ready for Monday night.
"Sean has been cleared, so he's ready to go," Head Coach John Harbaugh said.
It was initially reported that Considine suffered concussions in back-to-back games, but Considine told reporters Saturday that he actually only had a concussion in the second game and then felt re-occurring symptoms when he tried to play in the third preseason contest.
"I had one concussion in that second game and really I probably shouldn't have tried to play in that third game," Considine said. "That was all on me. I just had some symptoms come up from the original. It was one concussion."
The veteran safety said that he doesn't think he's ever had a concussion before in his career, which made it difficult for him to diagnose.
"They're not always easy to identify," Considine said. "Sometimes you almost feel like you're just sick and to be honest with you that's what I thought I was going into that third preseason game. But once I got running around in the game I knew it just wasn't feeling bad or being sick. I knew I actually had a concussion. I think going forward I learned a lesson and know what the side effects of a concussion actually feel like."
The Ravens held him out of the final preseason game and he's now back on track.
"I feel great," he said. "I took care of it. I feel a lot better now and I'm ready to go. I'm fortunate that I'm still around here and I'm looking to help this team win."
Tight Ends Not Listed
One of the big question marks heading into Week 1 was the health of top tight ends Dennis Pitta (broken hand) and Ed Dickson (shoulder sprain).
It looks like both will play on Monday, as neither player was listed on the injury report, meaning that they were full participants in practice.
Both players told reporters on Wednesday that they would be game-time decisions for Monday.
Reid Likely Out
Second-year offensive tackle Jah Reid has been dealing with a calf strain throughout the offseason and did not play at all during the preseason.
He did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Monday night.
Jackson Misses Practice With Illness
Rookie cornerback Asa Jackson missed practice the last two days with an illness and is listed as questionable on the injury report.
Even if Jackson is healthy on Monday, the Ravens may decide to inactivate him because they have plenty of depth in the secondary and he did miss two days of practice.
Dunlap, Scott Doubtful For Cincinnati
The Bengals may be without starting defensive end Carlos Dunlap (knee) and backup running back Bernard Scott (hand), as both are listed as doubtful for Monday. Neither player participated in practice during the week.
The team's top draft pick, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, is out for Monday night because of a knee injury that he suffered just before the start of training camp. Cornerback Jason Allen is questionable with a quad injury.
The players who are probable for Cincinnati are quarterback Andy Dalton (right bicep), defensive end Robert Geathers (knee), tight end Jermaine Gresham (knee), tight end Donald Lee (thigh) and linebacker Dan Skuta (head).
Dalton suffered his injury in the final preseason game, but he was a full participant in practice during the week and looks ready to play.
