Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Raiders

Defensive Line Hurting

The Ravens will be without defensive end Pernell  McPhee for the second week in a row.

The second-year defender has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders after sitting out practice the entire week. He is battling a thigh injury and has not practiced since leading up to the Texans game on Oct. 21.

McPhee isn't the only critical piece dealing with injuries along the defensive line. Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata has played through shoulder and knee injuries the last three games and he is questionable on the final injury report. Ngata practiced in a limited capacity on Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday.

Ngata has only played about half of the defensive snaps the last two weeks, and he told Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun that the injury is limiting his effectiveness. Ngata was held without a tackle Sunday against Cleveland.

"It's limiting me," Ngata told The Sun. "I just can't do what I want to do most of the time."

Guards Yanda, Williams Both Questionable

Starting offensive guards Marshal Yanda (knee) and Bobbie Williams (ankle) are also questionable after returning to the practice field Friday. They did not practice Wednesday or Thursday after suffering the injuries against Cleveland.

"They were out there today, so I do think it helped them," Head Coach John Harbaugh said Friday. "They got a little rest and got healed up a little bit."

Yanda told reporters on Friday that he felt good during Friday's practice and that he expects to play on Sunday.

"I just had to get a flow of things and tempo and do it that way, and I'll be good to go," Yanda said.

If Yanda or Williams is unable to play, then that would likely lead to shuffling along the line. Jah Reid could be an option to fill in at either spot, and the Ravens could also go back to Ramon Harewood, who started the first five games of the season at left guard.

Reed, 10 Others Probable

As part of the Ravens' new lengthy injury report, the Ravens have a large contingency of players listed as probable.

The most notable is safety Ed Reed (shoulder/knee), who missed practice Wednesday before participating in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday.

The other players listed as probable are left tackle Michael Oher (ankle), cornerback Jimmy Smith (abs), safeties Bernard Pollard (chest) and Sean Considine (chest), linebackers Terrell Suggs (ankle), Dannell Ellerbe (finger) and Josh Bynes (thigh), defensive tackle Ma'ake Kemoeatu (knee), wide receiver Jacoby Jones (toe) and long snapper Morgan Cox (shoulder).

McFadden, Goodson, Seymour All Out

The Oakland Raiders will be without running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson on Sunday, as they are both out after not practicing the whole week because of high ankle sprains.

McFadden and Goodson are the Raiders' top two running backs, but now they will likely turn to Taiwan Jones. The speedy second-year veteran is currently the third back on the depth chart, and he has just one carry on the season.

Losing McFadden is a big blow to the Raiders offense, as he leads the team with 455 rushing yards and is second with 31 catches for 190 receiving yards. Goodson has 17 carries for 111 yards on the year.

The Raiders will also be without veteran defensive tackle Richard Seymour because of knee and hamstring injuries.

That's a big loss for the Raiders, as Seymour leads the team with three sacks and also has 27 tackles. He plays a key role on the interior of the Raiders' line, and the Ravens could try to exploit his absence by running Ray Rice through the tackles.

The other player ruled out for Sunday is reserve cornerback Shawntae Spencer.
