The Ravens don't have much time to recover this week, facing a long flight to the West coast on Thursday and a Saturday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Normally off on Tuesday, the Ravens were back on the practice field for an evening walk-through. Here's a look at Tuesday's injury report, which is an approximation:
Nick Boyle Still Dealing With Concussion
Boyle remained in concussion protocol and missed Tuesday's walk-through after leaving Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Boyle is the Ravens' top blocking tight end, but they are deep at that position with Maxx Williams and rookies Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews. Those three will be asked to step up again Saturday night if Boyle can't go.
"I can't give Maxx enough credit," Head Coach John Harbaugh said. "For Maxx to step in and not have any drop-off, and then Hayden and Mark came in and blocked really well. You obviously saw that. To me, it's one of those unsung things that people don't see. Those two guys stepped it up – they really did. We have a lot of depth. We have four really good tight ends."
Left Guard Alex Lewis Starts Week With Positive Sign
Lewis (shoulder) was back on the practice field Tuesday as a limited participant after missing his second straight game on Sunday.
James Hurst saw most of the reps at left guard against Tampa Bay, and rookie Bradley Bozeman also saw playing time. Lewis has started 10 games at left guard this season, and how playing time will be divided if he returns this weekend remains to be seen.
However, his participation in the walkthrough was a positive sign. After he returned to practice last Wednesday, Lewis missed practice last Thursday and Friday.
OLB Matt Judon and LB/DB Anthony Levine Sr. Miss Practice
Judon injured his knee in Sunday's game, and the shortened work week could present a challenge for him getting ready for the Chargers. Judon has seven sacks, tied with linebackers Terrell Suggs and Za'Darius Smith for the team lead.
Levine (toe/ankle), a versatile defender and special teams leader, was also not on the field Tuesday. Missing practice for non-injury reasons were cornerback Jimmy Smith, safety Eric Weddle, and Suggs.
WR Keenan Allen Misses Practice for Chargers, RB Melvin Gordon Full Participant
Allen (hip) was injured during the Chargers' victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last week, and he did not practice Tuesday. He is the Chargers' top receiver with 1,074 yards on 88 catches, and will be a game-time decision, per Head Coach Anthony Lynn.
However, Gordon was a full participant after missing the past three games. Gordon is the Chargers' leading rusher (802 yards) with three games over 100 yards. Running back Austin Ekeler (neck) also missed Tuesday's practice, after playing well in place of Gordon. Los Angeles tight end Sean Culkin (back) also sat out Tuesday.
