How Did Former Ravens Perform In Debuts?

After trading Boldin to San Francisco for a sixth-round pick this offseason, the wide receiver had a career day in his debut with the 49ers. Boldin caught 13 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown as the 49ers took down the Green Bay Packers 34-28. Boldin showed instant chemistry with quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and was able to find the soft spots in the Packers defense. The veteran receiver also made tough contested catches, much like he did during the Ravens' postseason run last year.

The veteran safety was released by the Ravens this offseason for salary cap reasons, and he has moved into a starting role with the Titans. Pollard helped the Titans pick up a 16-9 victory over quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Titans defense shut down Pittsburgh for most of the game, and Roethlisberger finished the day with just 191 passing yards and an interception. Pollard was a key part of the defensive effort, registering six tackles in the game.

After spending his first four seasons in Baltimore, Ellerbe signed a $35 million contract with the Miami Dolphins this offseason. Ellerbe made a strong debut, finishing with a team lead (tied) six total tackles. The Dolphins shut down the Cleveland Browns Sunday, picking up a 23-10 victory. The Browns struggled to move the ball against the Dolphins, and Ellerbe also picked up two hits on quarterback Brandon Weeden.

While his team came up short, Kruger had a solid individual outing in his first time in a Browns uniform. Kruger finished with four total tackles, a sack and one quarterback hit. The Browns signed Kruger to a five-year deal reportedly worth $41 million in March, hoping that he can become a cornerstone piece of their defense. Kruger showed off his pass-rushing ability against the Dolphins, but the Browns still lost 23-10.

The Texans open the season tonight against the San Diego Chargers, but the veteran safety is reportedly not expected in uniform. Reed missed the entire preseason because of an offseason hip surgery, and recently described himself as "day-to-day." Reed signed a three-year contract with Houston reportedly worth $15 million.

Williams signed a three-year contract with the Eagles and he's one of the team's starting cornerbacks. Williams and the Eagles will take on the Washington Redskins in tonight's opener. Williams has made headlines this offseason for skipping the voluntary portion of practice and most recently for getting into a skirmish with teammate Riley Cooper during practice.
