Derrick Henry has been so dominant that even NBA players are thinking about defending him.

In a recent collaboration between the Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards and Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Edwards, one of the NBA's rising stars, said he could play free safety in the NFL. Jefferson quickly pushed back.

"You know how we gonna know you serious?" Jefferson said. "When you take that first lick coming up the middle. You and whoever."

"Me and Derrick Henry," Edwards responded.

Jefferson immediately responded with a shocking "WHAT?"

"I ain't gonna pop him, but imma hit that [guy] for sure," Edwards said. "... If I lifted like y'all, I'd be Derrick Henry."

After Wednesday's practice, the league's leading rusher was asked about Edwards' comments.

"He's crazy," Henry said. "I mean, everybody's got an imagination. ... We got to set up a training camp where basketball players come out here and put these pads on and see if they really can get through it."
