Starting safety Ar'Darius Washington is questionable for Sunday's game against the New York Giants due to a personal matter and will not travel with the team Saturday.
Washington has played every defensive snap the past three games and the Ravens' defense has taken a major step forward since he joined the starting lineup. In his fourth season, Washington has a career-high 49 tackles and had his first career interception against the Denver Broncos.
Washington has added toughness to the secondary and has helped the defense eliminate the big plays it was yielding earlier this season. He's a tenacious hitter despite often being the smallest player on the field at 5-foot-8, 180 pounds.
If Washington is not available, veteran Marcus Williams or rookies Beau Brade and Sanoussi Kane would be candidates to start opposite All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton. Kane (hamstring) returned to practice Friday but is questionable for Sunday.
