In honor of the NFL's 100th season, the Baltimore Ravens will host a "Huddle for 100" community day of service on Monday, Sept. 23. Huddle for 100 calls for participants to dedicate 100 minutes of service, with the goal of accumulating 100 million volunteer minutes among all NFL fans.
"This league-wide initiative is the largest volunteer opportunity we've offered in the Baltimore area," Ravens president Dick Cass stated. "We encourage Ravens fans to join us for this meaningful cause by giving 100 minutes of service that will positively impact our community. This is a terrific way to bring everyone together and strive toward making Baltimore a better place to live and work."
In order to maximize resources, the Ravens are teaming with the United Way of Central Maryland and over 50 charitable organizations throughout the area. Ravens players and other team representatives will help lead eight different volunteer teams that cover a wide range of worthy causes (listed below). Fans will have the opportunity to come together for this "Caw to Action" and join a team/cause by which they are inspired.
Beginning Sept. 9, fans can visit www.baltimoreravens.com/huddlefor100 to sign up for service opportunities they can commit to attend on Sept. 23. Volunteer slots are available for sign-up on a first-come, first-served basis. If slots are already filled online, fans are still urged to dedicate 100 minutes of their own community service. Fans are invited to document and highlight their volunteerism through social media posts by using #RavensHuddleFor100, which will also help collect and track the total team minutes being accrued.
