Lamar Jackson (back/knee) got a rest day Wednesday as the Ravens kicked off preparations for the Denver Broncos.

"He's been playing great and we've got a lot of football in front of us here," Head Coach John Harbaugh said. "We've got a game, quick game, another big game coming up. So that was warranted today."

The good news from Ravens practice is that cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey (knee) and Nate Wiggins (shoulder/illness) were on the field as limited participants. Humphrey didn't practice all last week, and Wiggins didn't make the trip to Cleveland due to illness.

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson made his debut wearing jersey No. 18. Johnson missed last week's Panthers-Broncos game due to a rib injury, but now could go against Denver in a Ravens uniform.

Other Ravens not practicing Wednesday were defensive tackle Travis Jones (ankle), defensive end Brent Urban (concussion), running back Rasheen Ali (ankle), and cornerback Arthur Maulet (neck). Baltimore is hurting on the defensive line with Michael Pierce placed on injured reserve.

Running back Keaton Mitchell (knee), whose 21-day practice window was opened last week, was a full participant Wednesday. He was limited all of last week.

The Ravens broke out their new "Purple Rising" helmets that they'll wear next week for "Thursday Night Football" against the rival Cincinnati Bengals. They also busted out some altered defensive back drills after dropping three interceptions in Cleveland.
